Information Security

County College of Morris recently received certification from the Committee on National Security Systems for its program in Information Security. The certification ensures that the program adheres to the National Training Standards for Systems Security Professionals.

The certificate was presented by the Director of Information Assurance for the National Security Agency and the Assistant Secretary of Defense for National Information Infrastructure. CCM Professor Patricia Tamburelli accepted the certificate in Atlanta, Georgia at the Ninth Annual Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education. CCM is the only community college in New Jersey to be granted the certification.

The conference brought educators and national security agencies together to discuss academic programs designed to strengthen our communication systems and reduce vulnerable areas in our national security system.

Students who graduate from CCM with a certificate in Information Security will join a rapidly growing technology field aimed to reduce crimes such as terrorism, identity theft and computer hacking. They can also work as network security specialists and investigators. Anyone interested in the program can call Admissions at 973-328-5100 or the Department of Information Technologies at 973-328-5780.
