First, let us tell you about our Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts Programs…
Hospitality Management is the academic study of the hospitality industry, Culinary Arts is the preparation, cooking and presentation of food, usually in the form of meals. Our degrees in Hospitality Management include; Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts and Science, Restaurant and Culinary Management, Culinary Arts Certificate and Restaurant Management and Event Planning Certificate (NRAEF ManageFirst). The ManageFirst program which is included in many of our courses is a certification provided by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. These courses provide a solid foundation of knowledge for the Restaurant and Culinary industries and a good understanding of management principles that will lead to a more successful career. Other Hospitality management courses within our program provide a focus on management of Hospitality operations and utilize computer simulations to bring Hotel and Restaurant management into the classroom. These studies may eventually take you into diverse fields such as hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, amusement parks, destination marketing, convention centers, country clubs, travel, tourism, event planning and other related industries that practice hospitality principles on a regular basis.

Career Opportunities
 
During the past twenty years, the world has experienced phenomenal growth in the realm of hospitality. The need for well-trained managers in this vast and diverse field has never been greater. In response to this growth, CCM strives to prepare hospitality professionals for the 21st Century. The Hospitality Industry and Tourism in New Jersey grew 3.8% in 2014 to reach $42.1 billion. This revenue directly and indirectly supported 466,442 jobs and 16 billion dollars of wages in New Jersey, as reported at the New Jersey Travel Association’s Governor’s Conference on Tourism. Restaurants are a driving force in New Jersey’s economy. They provide jobs and build careers for thousands of New Jersey residents. With 980,000 locations serving millions of guests per day the restaurant industry in the US generates $660.5 billion in sales and employs 10% of the US workforce. In New Jersey that means 318,200 jobs and in 2023 restaurants in New Jersey are projected to employ 337,800 people (6.2% job growth — or 19,600 jobs over 2013). Successful corporations actively recruit Hospitality graduates because they represent an excellent investment. Their credentials rest upon a strong foundation of business studies and they possess both technical skills and practical experience in the Hospitality Industry.

Transfer Opportunities
 
Transfer opportunities are available for students who wish to complete a more advanced degree in Hospitality Management or other studies. Upon completion of the associate degree, you may elect to transfer to a four-year institution to further your education. Some of our students complete their studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Johnson and Wales University, and other four-year institutions. Check with your Academic Advisors in order to further discuss articulations and transfer opportunities.
 
On Campus Teaching Facility

The Teaching Kitchen and Dining Room for the Hospitality Program at CCM is one of the best in the area. It features individual stations for separate groups of students and offers a multitude of different “state-of-the-art” learning experiences. In addition, students gain practical hands-on dining room, food and beverage management, and service experience in the Hospitality facility and attached large scale Davidson meeting and event areas.
