Ms. Adams also serves as Program Director for the Northwest New Jersey Consortium for Respiratory Care Education (NWNJCRCE) which she has filled since December 1998.

Ms. Adams holds professional credentials from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). She earned her CRTT in 1986 and her RRT in 1987. In 1996 she successfully completed the Perinatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist exam through the NBRC earning the NPS credential. She is also certified as a Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor through the American Academy of Pediatrics.


Prof. Adams has practiced all aspects of respiratory therapy since 1985 and has taught respiratory therapy as a full time faculty member since 1991. In addition to her teaching and clinical practice, Ms. Adams has remained actively involved in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) at both state and national levels. She has held committee member positions and is currently the New Jersey Society for Respiratory Care Director-at-Large and Chairperson for the NJSRC Student Scholarship Committee. Prof. Adams is the recipient of the 1989 Baxter Literary Award presented by the American Respiratory Care Foundation, the 2000 President’s Award presented by the NJSRC and the 2001 NJSRC IL Award.

Professor Adams has authored various journal articles for the AARC Times and the SCOPE Newsletter for the NJSRC and is also a contributing author in several Respiratory Care textbooks. Her publications include the following:

As Program Coordinator, Prof. Adams is responsible for the overall operation, management and academic integrity of the Respiratory Therapy Program which involves student recruitment, maintenance of accreditation standards and management of instructional resources. She oversees the student transition from the pre-professional to the professional phase and acts as a student advisor during both phases. Prof. Adams also provides classroom and clinical instruction and oversees clinical coordination.
