Professor Maraska has been teaching Nursing at CCM since 1996. She has a wide and varied background in nursing. As a Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia, she served as a hospital-wide resource person to facilitate the provision of quality nursing care to a growing geriatric population. Her passion for caring for the elderly continued as she worked in Home Health Care. As Vice President of Professional Services for Home Health Corporation of America, located in Bryn Mawr, PA., she was responsible for the start-up, certification and administration of Medicare-certified home health agencies.
Currently, she works as a per diem nurse at Morristown Memorial Hospital, a Magnet Institution, allowing her to maintain her clinical expertise in order to provide the most current up-to-date clinical instruction to her students. She has received the NISOD award for teaching excellence. Professor Maraska is a member of the American Nurses’ Association and the National League of Nursing.
