Professor Catalano earned a Masters degree in Educational Psychology and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Montclair State University. She also holds a NJ State Preschool through Grade 3 teaching certification from Caldwell College, having taught in the early elementary grades for 10 years. In addition to teaching at CCM, she is an Educational Consultant, visiting schools to observe teachers and students in the classroom and making recommendations regarding curriculum, classroom layout, teaching styles and overall atmosphere of the classroom.

Prior to joining CCM as an adjunct Psychology instructor in August 2011, Professor Catalano had been teaching Continuing Education classes, such as “Kindergarten Readiness and Summer 5 Birthdays” and “Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in Children” at CCM since 2008. She has also been an adjunct instructor at Felician College on the Lodi and Rutherford campuses and at Eastern International College on the Belleville and Jersey City campuses.

She is the court appointed volunteer coordinator for the Chester branch of the Juvenile Conference Committee. As a member of the JCC, she hears juvenile complaints that are referred by the court with the primary responsibility of preventing future misconduct. Professor Catalano is also a member of the American Psychological Association.
