Admissions FAQ

Below you will find a list of frequently asked questions that may provide some useful information.

Q.   Is there an application deadline?
A.   No, CCM does not have an application deadline. However, there are placement testing deadlines for each semester.  Placement exam scores take from 2-5 days to be entered and degree-seeking students may not register for any courses until all scores are posted.

Q.   What does the $30.00 application fee cover?
A.   The application fee only covers your application into CCM. The application is good for one semester only, so if you don't attend, you will need to reapply and pay the fee again.

Q.   What forms of payment do you accept for the application fee?
A.   We accept checks or cash in the office for paper applications. A credit card is required for our online application.

Q.   Do visiting students have to apply?  What is the process for visiting students?
 A.   If you're a visiting student, such as someone who wants to take a summer class at CCM to transfer over to their current school, then you need to apply. Every single student that wants to take a class at CCM has to apply first, which can be done online. For more information on the visiting student process, click here.

Q.   Do I need an appointment to speak with a counselor?
A.   Yes, all of our counselors are seen by appointment only. If you'd like to speak with a counselor, please call us at 973-328-5100 to set up an appointment.  We offer walk-in hours the week prior to the start of the fall and spring semesters.  Check the admissions home page for this information.

Q.   How can I check my application status?
A.   By using the convenient check your application status feature of our website. You can go there by clicking here.  You may also e-mail us at admiss@ccm.edu.  This feature only works for students who applied online.  If you submitted a paper application, you must e-mail us.

Q.   How do I schedule a placement test?
A.   You can schedule a placement test online here, or you can call 973-328-5166.

Q.   How can I register online or find out if a class is open?
A.   For both of those questions, you would go to Web Advisor.  All full-time students are required to meet with an academic advisor every semester before registering for classes.

Q.   Do I need to submit my high school transcripts?
A.   CCM requires all matriculating (seeking a degree) students to submit their official high school transcripts. This also includes students that have already earned a college degree.

Q.   How can I contact the Admissions Office if I have further questions?
A.   If you have any question not covered here, please feel free to e-mail us at admiss@ccm.edu.
