County College of Morris is collaborating with participating New Jersey Community Colleges and New Jersey City University to offer the New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey (Alternate Route Program). The program provides an opportunity for people who have a Bachelor’s or higher degree and did not complete a traditional teacher prep program to become certified to be a teacher in the State of New Jersey. Requirements include a Certificate of Eligibility, passing score on the Praxis II exam and a 2.75 or higher overall G.P.A in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. This program is run once a year starting in July.
All prospective NPTNJ students must take the Praxis II test, not Praxis I. Please access the Praxis website at www.praxis.org for more information as to specific subject areas.
Are you thinking about teaching as your next career?
