SERVICES:

Many services are provided by the CCM Office of Campus Life (Student Center Room 226. The Student Center is building #1 on the Campus Map), not only to students and the campus community but, in some cases, to CCM Alumni and to the general public as well.

For information on any of these services and/or the various Campus Life programs, please call us at 973-328-5225. Following is a brief description of these services:

Bulletin Boards

Anyone wishing to post material on campus bulletin boards must bring the material to the Office of Campus Life in the Student Center for approval and for posting. CCM departments and recognized student clubs and organizations may utilize these boards. Only non-profit organizations may advertise on campus bulletin boards.

All announcements and ads must be no larger than 8 1/2" x 11". Approved material is date stamped by the Campus Life Office to show the last day of posting. All material is to be posted by the Campus Life staff. Unstamped, unapproved material found on the bulletin boards will be removed immediately.

Bus Service and Schedule

Local bus service to the County College of Morris is supplied by the Morris County Metro, which is operated by Pabco Transit, Inc. under contract with NJ Transit. Check with Pabco for bus stop and schedule information at 973-328-7686. The Morris County Metro Route that services the college is Route #2. The CCM bus stop is located in parking lot #6, near the Student Center's lower level entrance.

Identification Cards

CCM student identification cards are provided to tuition-paid students (full-time and part-time). The photo ID card entitles the bearer to all benefits and privileges the college provides, including:  library use, discounts to campus events, voting privileges in student elections, CCM parking decal, entrance to CCM sporting events, use of various athletic facilities (e.g. tennis courts, swimming pool, fitness center and weight room) and other campus life programs. This card must be revalidated with a sticker each semester; this can be done at the Campus Life Information Window upon proof of tuition payment.

A fee is charged to replace student identification cards: $5 for the first replacement, $15 for the next. All students must have their student ID cards in their possession while on the CCM campus.

CCM Student ID Card FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)

Information Window

The Office of Campus Life's Information Window's staff provides many services to the campus community: answering questions, giving directions, selling tickets, renting videos, issuing Game Room equipment, distributing identification cards, validating items for bulletin board posting, and much more. Information about CCM's campus life programs, its many student clubs and organizations, and how students can get involved in our many activities may be obtained at the Information Window.

Lounges

The Student Community Center Lounge is for enjoyment and relaxation by the college community. Sit back, read the newspaper, study, chat with friends or just relax by the fireplace. Student club and organization presentations and other special programs are periodically staged in this lounge.

The Student Center also has a TV Lounge. This has a HD TV with DirecTV satellite programming. Various channels (ESPN, USA, Food Network, Comedy Central, MSNBC, CNN . . .) are programmed throughout the day, so stop by and enjoy a break from the rigors of your class work. Video game tournaments are sometimes held here as well.

In addition, there is another lounge located on campus: the Sheffield Hall Lounge, also referred to as the "A Lounge"  is across from the cafeteria in Cohen Hall.

Museum Membership Cards

The Office of Campus Life holds memberships to the Whitney Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Students wishing to gain free admission to any of the above museums must come to the Information Window with their valid CCM student identification card. Passes are issued on a first come, first served basis for a one day or one weekend period.

This service is also available to other members of the CCM community: staff, faculty members and alumni (with valid identification).

Planetarium Reservations

On specified Saturday afternoons throughout the year, the Planetarium (located in Cohen Hall - B Building) presents programs for the public. Visit the  CCM Planetarium website for a listing of the upcoming shows. Reservations for the shows can be made through the Office of Campus Life, by calling the Planetarium Reservationist at 973-328-5076, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Publications

The CLU: Campus Life Update is published by the Office of Campus Life every other Wednesday during the academic year (Sept. - May).

The CLU is designed to keep the campus community "CLUed into" what is happening at CCM. It features information about upcoming trips, student club and organization activities, information about upcoming performing arts productions, the CCM Titan athletic schedule, and much more. Check it out.

The CCM student handbook is compiled and published on a semester-by-semester basis by the Office of Campus Life. The handbook contains many of the colleges regulations as they pertain to students and is a resource for the colleges services and offices. Students are encouraged to use it for a quick and easy reference as needed. This publication is distributed throughout campus the first few weeks of every semester. It is also available at the Campus Life Information Window.

Student/Community Center

The Student/Community Center is the "living room" of the CCM campus. The SCC houses the college bookstore along with enrollment services offices (Admissions, Financial Aid, Records & Registration, Academic Advisement), and the Bursar's (pay your CCM bills here) Office.

Also located in the Student Center are the Office of Campus Life, student clubs offices, student lounges (one with a fireplace), a game room (table tennis, foosball, chess . . .), a television lounge, the Vice President for Student Development and Enrollment Management office, a food service area and cafeteria, Counseling Services, and the Women's Center. The Dragonetti Auditorium, the primary performing arts and special events venue at CCM, has undergone an extensive renovation and is now open.

Student Organization Offices

The offices of the following student organizations are located in the lower level of the Student Center: Student Government Association, Student Activities Programming Board, International Students Club,  Phi Theta Kappa (CCM's honor society), the Campus Christian Fellowship, CCM Ambassadors, and the Youngtown Edition  (the CCM student newspaper). There is a general club and organization area, housing facilities for CCM's other clubs, located in the lower level of the Student Center (Room 125).

WCCM, the student radio station, has its offices and broadcast studio located in the Sherman H. Masten Learning Resource Center (library), Room LRC 210.

Student leaders often hold office hours, so stop by the offices, meet your campus leaders and get involved. It will make your CCM career more enjoyable and productive (and it will look good on your resume).

Ticket Purchase

Tickets for various trips and on-campus events may be purchased by students at the Information Window prior to the event. This includes tickets for the trips sponsored by the Campus Life Office (Broadway show trips, excursions into New York City: museums, the Bronx Zoo, holiday shows, sporting events: Mets, Nets, Yankees, etc.), and field trips co-sponsored by academic departments and the Campus Life Office (Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, Wall Street, NYC Museums).

Tickets for CCM Special Events and Performing Arts productions (musicals, dramas, films, lectures, family performing arts presentations, etc.) are also sold in advance at the Student Center's Info Window. Visit the CCM Campus Life Calendar for an updated listing of what's going on at CCM.

For certain bus excursions, a limited number of tickets may be purchased upon presentation of a valid CCM ID card and another form of identification. These student tickets are usually discounted over the actual cost of the show ticket, bus, etc. The student must show the valid CCM ID card when using the discounted ticket.

"Twofers"

"Two-for-the-price-of-one" discount coupons are available for many current Broadway shows and some off-Broadway shows. You may pick up these show discount coupons in the Campus Life Office and exchange the so-called "TWOFER" at the corresponding theater's Box Office or by mailing it in to the theater (directions on how to use the coupon are printed on it). The choice of tickets available, which are provided by the shows themselves, change regularly so stop by periodically to see what's available.

Videotape and DVD Movie Rentals

A wide selection of videocassette and DVD movies featuring current hits, family entertainment, cartoons, instructional videos, animated features, and film classics is available for rent at the Campus Life Information Window. New selections are added continually as they become available. Rental fee is just $1 overnight and weekends (rent on Friday; return on Monday). For every four rentals, receive the fifth rental free.
