Beyond the Basics

Employment

The Landscape and Horticultural Technology Program has always maintained strong ties to this area's many landscape and horticulture related businesses. All students who seek to earn a degree in Landscape and Horticultural Technology must complete a Cooperative Agricultural Experience course (AGR 233). The student obtains a job within the industry and the employer provides the student with a valuable educational experience.  Employers contact the Landscape and Horticultural Tech faculty throughout the year with most requests coming during early spring. Jobs are posted on the conventional bulletin board located in the foyer of the Ag Building and are listed in the campus co-op office.

Community and Professional Programs

For the hobbyist who wants to learn more about landscaping but would rather not take a full semester course, the LHT Program sponsors short courses on a variety of topics throughout the year.

Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional

In cooperation with the New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association, the Landscape and Horticultural Technology Program is pleased to serve as the northern New Jersey site for the Training Course for the Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional Certification.
