Programs
Students need to be aware that due to the
competitive nature of admission into the
Nursing Program, granting a seat into the
professional (clinical) track is based on
the number of courses completed at CCM, the
grades received, and the overall GPA, at the
time the letter of intent is filed. Morris
County, NJ residents who meet the above
criteria will be given preferential
consideration. Admission into the
professional (clinical) track is not
guaranteed.
Students
must meet all the college admission criteria
and be accepted into the nursing major prior
to filing an intent form.
The Nursing Program Offers Several Tracks Of
Study
Traditional Day Study Track
This clinical track is offered as a day
sequence beginning in the fall semester. It
is designed
to be completed in four sequential
uninterrupted semesters of full-time study.
Students must be eligible for graduation
upon completion of Nursing IV. Currently
enrolled students seeking admission to this
study track must file an intent form in the Office of Records and
Registration by April 1st. The
decision to grant a seat will be based on
the number of required credits completed,
science grades, and the student’s GPA at the
time the intent form is filed. To be
considered, the student’s GPA must be a 2.0
or higher and all science grades must be a
“C” or higher. If science courses were
completed seven years or more prior to
filing the letter of intent, students must
prove competency by testing or retake the
course. Please be aware that multiple grades
of “D” or lower prior to obtaining a passing
grade in the science courses, may affect
chances of getting a seat in the
professional (clinical) track.
Evening Study Track
This clinical track is offered as an evening
sequence beginning in the spring semester.
It is designed for students who can best
meet the program requirements by attending
classes part time during the evening hours.
Students are required to complete the
clinical nursing courses in four sequential
uninterrupted semesters. Students must be
eligible for graduation upon completion of
Nursing IV. Students must have completed
all non-clinical course degree requirements,
including all sciences, prior to filing
their
intent
form.
The intent form
must be filed in the Office of Records and
Registration by October 15th.
The
decision
to grant
a seat
will be
based on
the
completion
of
required
credits,
science
grades
and the
GPA, at
the time
the
intent
form is filed. To be
considered, the student’s GPA must be a 2.0
or higher and all science grades must be a
“C” or higher. If science courses were
completed seven years or more prior to
filing the intent form, students must
prove competency by testing or retake the
course. Please be aware that multiple
grades of “D” or lower prior to obtaining a
passing grade in the science courses, may
affect chances of getting a seat in the
professional (clinical) track.
Non-Clinical Study Track
Students in this track may study full time
or part time and take day or evening
classes. This track is designed for students
who are currently not eligible for admission
to the professional (clinical) track.
Students in this track can take all general education and
science courses required for the nursing
major. Once students complete the
non-clinical courses they file an intent
form for the day
or evening study
track in the Office of Records and
Registration. Advancement into the
clinical track is not guaranteed once
non-clinical course work is completed.
Reinstatement
A student who fails or withdraws from a
nursing course and wishes to be reinstated, must file an Application for
Reinstatement in the Nursing Department by
December 1st for the spring
semester or May 1st for the fall
semester. Reinstatement into a nursing
course is contingent upon space
availability. A student may only be
reinstated one time. Students who meet
the criteria for reinstatement and have been
denied a seat due to space availability in
the past will be given preferential
consideration in the current reinstatement
process.
