| County College of Morris at Headquarters Plaza
Virtual Tour To meet the demanding educational and training needs of a
diverse community, the County College of Morris at Headquarters Plaza in
Morristown, recently expanded its facilities to support a broad range of
learning styles, teaching methods and course offerings.
On
January 20, 2004 we completed the third expansion and renovation of CCM at
Headquarters Plaza. The location first opened in December 1992 with 3,000
square feet. In 1996, the college added another 3,400 square feet. In
2004, the entire space was renovated and another 5,400 square feet was
added. Today CCM at Headquarters Plaza has approximately 12,000 square
feet of space.
- The
state-of-the-art location has:
- Eleven classrooms with new seating, desk, carpeting, painting, as well as the traditional video and "overhead" technology giving all students the
best learning experience possible.
- Four computer labs with the latest technology and capabilities to access the internet; two of the labs have computer related plasma presentation screens with SMART Board interactive technology that combines the power
of a projector, computer and whiteboard. This technology allows instructors to do everything one can do on a computer such as highlight key points, access applications and Web sites, and write notes in electronic ink. Then, save all work to one file that can be printed, e-mailed or posted to a Web site.
- Wireless LAN capability - wireless broadband, communications and connectivity technology bringing secure, high-speed internet access to the entire facility.
- Laptops capability in any classroom - wireless notebook computers will allow students to collaborate, communicate and share information from anywhere in and around the Headquarters Plaza facility -- from any classroom. The notebooks integrate wireless networking capability with Intel's Pentium 4 processors, lightweight form factor, large screen size and expandability enabling students to stay connected -- anytime, anyplace.
The new expanded facility will provide educational course and training opportunities
for traditional CCM students, adults, career professionals, local
businesses, municipal and county government, and secondary school districts
alike, expanding access to higher education, career training, and cultural
understanding.
