CARDS

CCM STUDENTS:

Students who are currently enrolled at CCM must provide their CCM picture ID cards, with the current semester sticker to be registered in the library system. Registration is valid for one year. Currently enrolled students can obtain their CCM photo ID and current semester sticker through Campus Life in SCC226.

Students may use their card at local Morris County libraries if they do not have a public library card. To use a CCM card in other Morris County libraries, students must have a current semester sticker and barcode.

CCM DISTANCE LEARNING STUDENTS:

Students may obtain their library card at the main desk in the library with a valid CCM picture ID as described above. Students who are unable to get to the main campus, may request a library barcode. To request a barcode, a distance learning student should email "Ask A Librarian" with a library card request and include their name, address, telephone number, CCM email address and CCM ID number. Upon receipt of the email, a barcode will be sent to the student.

CCM FACULTY & STAFF:

Faculty and staff of the college must provide their CCM picture ID to be registered in the library system.

The rules regarding using CCM cards at Morris County libraries are the same as for students with the exception of the sticker requirement.

CCM ALUMNI:

Alumni must provide a valid CCM Alumni Card to be registered in the library system.  Registration is valid for six months and cannot be used outside of the CCM library.  Please contact the Alumni Office at 973-328-5059 for information on obtaining an alumni card.

Alumni who are Morris County residents should follow the guidelines for Non-CCM Morris County Residents.

NON-CCM MORRIS COUNTY RESIDENTS:

Morris County residents register with the CCM library by providing their public library card at the CCM library.  Once the card is registered, it will be valid for borrowing CCM library materials.

CPP STUDENTS:

Community and Professional Program students who are not Morris County residents will need to fill out a form in the CPP office in HH114 to verify their enrollment status.  The form will be faxed to the library where the student will be registered.  CPP students must present the form each time they wish to borrow materials.  Registration is valid for six months only and cannot be used outside of  the CCM library.

CPP students who are Morris County residents should follow the directions for Non-CCM Morris County Residents.

BORROWING MATERIALS

CCM library materials may be borrowed with a valid library card only.  Items are not renewable.  The loan periods are as follows:

BOOKS & AUDIO VISUAL MATERIALS circulate for a four week period.  Up to five books per subject may be borrowed at one time.

RESERVE ITEMS generally circulate for a time period ranging from one day to one week depending on the material.  For information on items that have been placed on reserve for a specific course, please visit the Electronic Reserve System.

REFERENCE BOOKS & PERIODICALS do not circulate.

TELECOURSE tapes are available in the reserve section at the circulation desk.  Tapes may be viewed in the library or can usually be borrowed for a 24 hour time period.

VIDEOCASSETTES circulate for the same period as books except for reserve items.

RETURNING MATERIALS

CCM library materials should be returned to the library during regular hours.  A book drop is located outside of the front door for after hours.  Videocassettes, CD-ROMs and audio-visual equipment should not be returned in the book drop due to the possibility of damage.  CCM books may be returned at other Morris County public libraries.  Similarly, Morris County public library books may be returned at the CCM library.  Keep in mind that books will not be discharged until they reach their home library.  Audio visual materials should be returned at the library from which they were borrowed.

A 10 cent per day fine is charged for overdue materials to encourage their prompt return so that they are available for other students.  Books are assigned a seven-day grace period before fines are applied.
