The archive collection includes records or evidence, no matter the format, that will serve to document the history of the County College of Morris, its faculty, students, and staff. The collection is available for viewing by appointment only. Please call 973-328-5300 for more information.
BORROWING & RETURNING MATERIALS
CCM library materials may be borrowed with a valid library card only. Items are not renewable. Most materials circulate for a 4 week time period. Items place on reserve are limited to a loan period ranging from one day to one week depending on the materials. Reference books and periodicals do not circulate.
CCM library materials should be returned during regular library hours whenever possible. A book drop is located outside the front door for after hours. Videocasettes, CD-ROMs and audio-visual equipment should not be returned in the book drop due to the possibility of damage.
CCM library materials returned past their due date are subject to a 10 cent per day fine.
Computers are available for public access in both the lobby of the building and on the second floor. All computers are fully loaded with up-to-date software and are available for use on a first come, first served basis. Time is limited to one half hour when others are waiting. Technology assistance is available through the CCM help desk at 973-328-5600 or at helpdesk.ccm.edu.
All computers will allow acces to WebCT, WebAdvisor, and CCM Student Email.
CCM STUDENTS: Library cards may be obtained by currently enrolled students with a current CCM ID card. Library staff at the main desk in the lobby will affix a barcode to the student's ID which will allow the ID card to also be used as a library card.
CCM DISTANCE LEARNING STUDENTS: Students who come to campus may obtain a library card as described above. Students without access to the campus may request a barcode to use as their library card. Simply email a request through the Ask A Librarian service with your name, address, telephone number, CCM email account, and CCM ID number. Upon receipt of the email, a barcode will be mailed.
COMMUNITY & PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM STUDENTS: Students taking CPP courses that are not residents of Morris County need to fill out a form in the CPP office in HH114 to verify their enrollment status. A copy of the form will be kep on file in the library. CPP students must present their copy of the form each time they wish to borrow materials. Registration is valid for a period of six months. CPP students who are residents of Morris County should follow the directions below for NON-CCM Morris County residents.
CCM FACULTY & STAFF: Employees must present their CCM picture ID for registration in the library system.
CCM ALUMNI: Graduates of CCM must provide a valid CCM Alumni Card for registration in the system. Cards for alumni are valid for six months. Alumni cards can be obtained at the Alumni Office (973-328-5059). Alumni who are residents of Morris County should follow the guidelines below for Non-CCM Morris County residents.
NON-CCM MORRIS COUNTY RESIDENTS: Residents of Morris County can register with the CCM library by providing their public library card.
The Interlibrary loan service is provided to CCM students, faculty, staff, and alumni only. It allows patrons to request library materials that are not available in the CCM library. Access to many materials collected by libraries in the United States are available through this service. Patrons must have a valid CCM library card to use the Interlibrary Loan service.
The library will make every effort to fill request for all types of materials. However, some libraries will put limitations on the types of materials that they will loan. Delivery times vary, but most materials will arrive within two to three weeks. Loan periods for items vary according to the library that is loaning the material. Patrons will be notified of the due date upon pick up of the item. Materials borrowed through the CCM interlibrary loan program must be returned to the CCM library. If late fees apply, patrons will be notified.
Before requesting materials, please check the LRC Catalog and/or the Electronic Databases to be sure the items is not already available in the CCM library. Requests are limited to five per research assignment. When ordering government documents, be sure to include the SuDoc number and issuing agency whenever possible.
