BORROWING AND RETURNING ITEMS
To borrow items, bring them to the library information desk with your current CCM ID card. You may borrow up to five books per subject.
Borrowing Periods (except reserves)

Items that are being held for a particular course are “on reserve.” Ask for these at the Library information desk by giving the title of the item and your professor’s name. You can check titles by searching online: Class Reserve Materials
Borrowing periods for reserve items are usually one to seven days although some may be used in-house only.
Items may be returned upstairs at the library front desk or to the book drop outside the front door.
Please return items promptly so that others may use them. Items may not be renewed. Late fees are 10 cents per day for each item. There is a 7-day grace period on fines for items that have a 28-day lending period.
You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card and will be charged for lost or damaged items. Do not allow anyone else to use your card, and be sure to notify the library immediately if your card is stolen.
BORROWING FROM OTHER LIBRARIES
Some Morris County public libraries will allow you to check out materials using your current CCM library card. Call your library ahead of time to find out their policies.
The CCM Library can borrow items for you from other libraries, to be picked up at the CCM Library front desk. Books must be returned to the CCM Library by the date posted on the book. Articles do not have to be returned. Place your request online: Request Items Through Inter Library Loan. You will need a current CCM ID card with library barcode.
COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINES
The Learning Resource Center collects and maintains information resources to support “the individual’s quest for lifelong learning and professional development” in accordance with the mission of the County College of Morris. View the Library’s Collection Development Guidelines.
Computers are available throughout the library. No sign-in is required. We ask that you limit time to 30 minutes if others are waiting. Internet access, Microsoft Office applications and research databases are available.
Computer Resources- Using From Off Campus
Most of the library’s article and research databases are available to students, faculty and staff from off campus. Go to Electronic Databases to log in using your CCM username and password.
Copiers, Printers, Scanner
Copiers: Black and white: 10 cents per page; color: 25 cents per page. Copiers accept coins and $1 or $5 bills.
Printing: See instructions at computer stations. Black and white: 10 cents per page; color: 25 cents per page. Printers accept coins and $1 or $5 bills.
Scanner: Documents can be printed, saved on a flash drive or sent as an attachment at no charge.
CCM Students: Bring your CCM ID card to the library information desk to obtain a barcode. Your card must have a current semester sticker. For information about getting your photo ID and sticker, contact Campus Life.
CCM Distance Learning Students: If you cannot come to campus to have your card activated, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, address, telephone number, CCM email address and CCM ID number. A barcode will be mailed to you. It should be attached to the back of your student ID card.
CCM Faculty & Staff: Employees must present their CCM picture ID to obtain a library barcode.
CCM Alumni: Bring your CCM alumni card with current sticker, to the library information desk to obtain a library barcode. For information on obtaining and updating CCM Alumni cards, contact the Alumni Office. Registration is valid for six months. If you are a Morris County resident, see below.
Community & Professional Program Students: Fill out a form in the CPP office, HH210, and bring this form with you to the library whenever you come to borrow materials. Registration is valid for six months. If you are a Morris County resident, see below.
Morris County Residents: If you are not affiliated with CCM, you may use your current library card from a Morris County public library to borrow materials from the CCM library. Just bring your public library card to the CCM Library information desk.
