FORMULAS & TABLES
|
Formula Database
http://library.thinkquest.org/20991/gather/formula/index.html
Lists commonly used mathematical formulas. Click on "Search the
Database" to look for a specific formula. Enter a keyword from the formula you wish
to find. For example, if you enter the word "circumference" you will be given
the formula for determining the circumference of a circle.
Math Reference Tables
http://www.math2.org/
Tables, charts, graphs in all areas of mathematics. Includes
general math (multiplication, fraction-decimal conversion, etc.,) algebra (polynomials,
exponents, etc.,) geometry, trigonometry, linear algebra, discrete math, statistical
tables, calculus, and more.

GENERAL SOURCES |
The Calculus Page
http://www.math.ucdavis.edu/~calculus/
Includes problems with step-by-step solutions, sample exams, and online
textbooks.
MAA Online: The
Mathematical Association of America
http://www.maa.org
Includes news archives and resourceful
links.
Math DL
http://mathdl.maa.org/
The Mathematical Sciences Digital Library’s site that covers reviews of
mathematical topics as well as links to the Journal of Online Mathematics and
its Applications.
The Math Forum Internet Mathematics Library
http://www.mathforum.org/library/
Includes a wide variety of mathematics topics and resources. A good site for
browsing on a general topic. At the bottom of the site is a search engine with the
capability to search by topic, research type, and level (high school, college, research,
etc.)
MathGuide
http://www.mathguide.de/
A "subject gateway to scholarly relevant information"
in mathematics. This is a vast resource. Click on Browse-Subject to find topics (ex. set
theory, geometry, real functions, abstract harmonic analysis, etc.) Click on Browse-Source
Type to find categories of information (ex. encyclopedias, lists of abbreviations,
bibliographies, handbooks, etc.) Or use the Simple or Advanced Search features to locate
specific information.
Math-Net Links
http://www.math-net.de/links/content?collection=math.pub.jour.elec
Provides links to "electronic mathematical journals (all electronic and
electronic versions of paper journals) which are accessible free of costs at
present in the Internet." Journals range from the broad (New York Journal of
Mathematics) to the specific (Electronic Journal of Differential Equations.) The
"Meta-Index" category at the top of the page gives links to additional journal
lists.
MathSearch
http://www.maths.usyd.edu.au:8000/MathSearch.html
Looking for something specific? This site allows you to search
thousands of mathematics web sites; most are at the university and research level. The
search form allows you to search for specific phrases. For example, if you want to know
how mobius strips are related to klein bottles, you can enter "mobius strip" in
one phrase box and "klein bottle" in the next. You will be given a list of web
sites that contain both expressions.
MathWorld
http://mathworld.wolfram.com
Online encyclopedia of math concepts, compiled by mathematician Eric Weisstein. The site
gives short explanations of math terms, and is searchable by subject category or by
entering a term into the search box on the home page.
Webmath.com
http://www.webmath.com/
An innovative help site offering "instant solutions to your
math problems." The interactive format allows you to enter a math problem in any of
several categories. The site will show you the solution to the problem, and explain the
correct steps for solving the problem. Categories include everyday math, polynomials,
quadratic equations, the equation of a line, etc. There is also a section with several
types of practice word problems and explanations.
