The
Sherman H. Masten Learning Resource Center
offers its users access to the Internet as
part of its mission to provide a broad range
of resources that meet the current and
future informational and educational needs
of the County College of Morris community.
Not all
sources on the Internet provide accurate,
complete, or current information. Individual
users are responsible for evaluating the
validity of the information they acquire and
use.
LRC staff
cannot control the availability of
information "links" which often change
rapidly and unpredictably.
Resources
available through the Internet may contain
materials of a controversial nature. In
deference to First Amendment rights, the LRC
cannot restrict access to such material nor
protect users from offensive content.
However, Internet users are urged to be
sensitive to the fact that workstations are
in public areas and, therefore, images on
the screen are subject to view by a wide
audience.
Parents
or guardians are responsible for their
children's viewing and use of Internet
materials.
The LRC
reserves the right to implement appropriate
procedures for curtailing access to the
Internet by users engaged in unauthorized or
illegal activities. Moreover, the LRC
reserves the right to establish time limits
on Internet access or end an Internet
session, as necessary and appropriate.
Persons who engage in unauthorized or
inappropriate activities may lose library
and/or other college privileges. Illegal
acts involving access to Internet resources
may also be subject to prosecution by local,
state or federal authorities.
The viewing of child pornography via the
Internet is a prohibited criminal act
reportable to law enforcement authorities.
By
accessing the Internet at the LRC, users
agree to abide by this Internet policy.
