Microsoft Office Specialist 2010 certifications are primarily for office workers who use Microsoft Office programs as a vital part of their job functions. These certifications cover the entire Microsoft Office Suite encompassing Word 2010 PowerPoint® 2010 Excel® 2010 Outlook® 2010 Access® 2010 and SharePoint as well as Windows latest Operating System.
These courses require that you come in for Orientation for approximately one 1 hour before the start of the class to learn how to login and access the material. An access code will be provided to you at that time. If you take subsequent courses this will not have to be repeated.
It is also required that the final assessment be done in person date and time will be provided to you.
Microsoft IT Academy classes require no previous experience but students should have some basic computer knowledge. To help you Microsoft offers the Digital Literacy course free if there is no prior computer experience.
This course is designed for those individuals who have no computer experience. This course introduces you to the fundamentals of computing explains the components of a computer explores operating system basics and shows you how to use a mouse and a keyboard. Learn the Internet and the World Wide Web. Explore the most common productivity software applications used in business in education and at home. Learn how to use a computer safely and responsibly. The Microsoft Digital Literacy curriculum provides essential computing skills for learners new to computing. The IT Academy program uses Digital Literacy as a remedial tool for some students and as a means of exploring new topics for others.

Microsoft Word is a word processing program used to create documents such as memos letters reports research papers brochures newsletters envelopes and much more. Word is a full featured program that provides a wide variety of editing and formatting features as well as sophisticated visual elements.

This hybrid course online and instructor led will cover the basic skills and knowledge you will need to get started using Word including how to create edit and lay out documents along with proofreading the documents. CEUs 1.0

In the Intermediate hybrid Microsoft Word course you will learn how to format text and paragraphs manipulate text and control pagination. It will also cover working with columns and how to use tables modify tables and lists to organize content and insert and format references and captions. CEUs 1.0

MS Word 2010 Advanced MOS 301
The Advanced Word course will cover working with graphical elements to create visually stunning documents format illustrations insert and modify text boxes how to work with long documents navigating documents merging documents and manage and track changes. CEUs 1.0

MS Outlook 2010 MOS 104
Microsoft Outlook is the email client included with the Microsoft Office suite. It is designed to operate as an independent personal information manager as an Internet mail client or in conjunction with the Microsoft Exchange Server for group scheduling email and task management. It manages email calendars contacts tasks to do lists and documents or files on the hard drive. Outlook helps you communicate through email phone support and group scheduling capabilities. Microsoft Access is a database management software application created as a part of the Microsoft Office suite application. This hybrid course online and instructor led will cover the basic skills and knowledge you will need to get started using Access this basic Microsoft Access classes offer a tour of the software and introduces new users to the features and advantages of Microsoft Access. Explore the program and learn core skills such as finding and using database templates creating tables and modifying forms and reports. CEUs 1.0
MS Access 2010 Intermediate MOS 205
In Intermediate Microsoft Access classes such as database development students learn more advanced skills such as how to add fields to a table assign data types and format table views. Tasks such as customizing forms importing data and grouping data are introduced and students are given the chance to become comfortable with these new skills. Other topics covered in Intermediate Microsoft Access classes may include mail merge and switchboard forms. CEUs 1.0

MS Access 2010 Advanced MOS 305
Advanced Microsoft Access classes teach students the more powerful aspects of Microsoft Access including pivot tables and charts crosstab queries and macros. Students practice adding form command buttons adding report sections and applying advanced query wizards. An advanced Microsoft Access class also teaches students how to create calculated controls and running sums.
