Changes in multi-media tools technologies and delivery platforms are occurring at an increasingly rapid pace. This program is for individuals wanting to understand and learn the fundamental concepts and techniques required to work with the elements of multi-media.

This program is about the basic parts of multi-media as well as about how to integrate individual tools together with current technology and applications. This program will show you how to use text images sound and video to deliver messages and content in meaningful ways. It is about designing organizing and producing multi-media projects of all kinds and avoiding typical technical pitfalls along the way.

Above all the courses in this program will provide both the casual learner and the professional with a practical guide to understanding and using multi-media materials and content and the tools and technology that create them.

WDA 210 - Adobe Dreamweaver

Create dynamic Web sites and applications using the fundamental power of Dreamweaver. This course will walk you through Web site and application development using the tools and features available to you from the latest version of Dreamweaver. You will start with a solid foundation reviewing how the Internet works and the protocols that make it up then move on to Web basics such as how to design a Web page in Dreamweaver add and format text discover what types of images are best for Web use format and align images and much more. Next learn using database driven content with ASP server technology. Plus learn the basics of ASP.NET JSP PHP and ColdFusion.

Course Objectives

Using the latest version of Dreamweaver students who successfully complete the course will learn how to plan and design construct then deploy a Web site and dynamic Webpages including

WDA 240 - Adobe Fireworks

This course will enable you to create highly optimized graphics for the web or virtually any device from smart phones to embedded displays. Produce websites user interfaces and rich prototypes that are editable in vector or bitmap mode. Quickly create wireframes from Fireworks templates. Create graphics with transparent alpha layers that will display correctly on any browser. Apply behaviors to objects to simulate interactivity.

WCS 210 - Adobe Flash
 
This course is designed to provide students with the capability to be proficient in creating vector graphics and simple animations for use in presentations and on websites. Learn to use the various tools in FLASH to create select handle and edit shapes. Learn to apply colors to shapes create custom colors gradients and line styles. Explore ways to combine and group shapes and work with imported images. Learn how to add text to your images and experiment by using layers to arrange shapes in a movie. Explore core principles techniques and tips through hands-on training.

WDA 220 - Web Design Using HTML XHTML & CSS

The purpose of this course is to prepare you to design and upload your own web pages. In it you will learn how to use HTML formatting codes to display your words pictures and even music to Web surfers. The course will also cover the mechanics of uploading and linking to other interesting sites on the World Wide Web. Hands-on projects contribute to learning essential skills.

This course assumes little or no familiarity with HTML.
 
 

WCS 230 - Adobe Illustrator

This course will take the student through most features of Adobes industry-standard vector graphics software explaining not only how to use the multitude of features but also why and when to use them. This course will include insightful techniques on using the Live Color environment and its tools the Isolation mode for working on complex artwork and tools for drawing erasing modifying and cropping graphics. Also integration features with Flash as a key part of an entire uninterrupted workflow from initial concept to final execution. Designers from all fields-illustrators animators package designers graphic designers web designers will find this course useful.

WCS 250 - Adobe InDesign

This course provides skills and techniques on the latest Adobe product for graphics users of all levels. Teaches not just which InDesign command does what but also why it works and when to use it. Includes short real-world projects that teach just enough information that you’ll be able to learn it and absorb it. Plus provides details for those converting their layouts from Quark or PageMaker2 and includes a color insert with examples of good layout choices, InDesign's Swatches palette, and more.

WDA 230 - JavaScript

For beginning JavaScript programmers and Web designers wanting to create windows display moving text and generate sound or other multimedia elements with ease. This course teaches the student to use the JavaScript programming language with Hyper-Text Markup Language (HTML) pages. The student will learn the basic syntax of the JavaScript language how to create JavaScript programs inside HTML documents and how to use JavaScript programs to enhance Web pages.

Students who successfully complete this course will learn how to
  • Design and create a JavaScript program that lets the user interact with a Web page
  • Create an HTML page that contains one or more JavaScript functions
  • Load and display HTML pages that include JavaScript commands
  • Edit a nonworking JavaScript program so that it runs without error
  • Creates a JavaScript program that displays input controls on an HTML page and allows the user to submit data to a Web page
  • Create a JavaScript program that reads user input data based on the contents of the data and perform alternate actions

WCS 220 - Adobe Photoshop

This course is designed to provide students with the capability to use Adobe Photoshop graphics software on a computer. Basic foundation course in the use of electronic techniques to select manipulate and edit images work with masks channels and layers combine raster and vector graphics print in color manage color and create graphics for the web.

In this course you'll explore the most widely used features of Adobe Premiere to create digital movies containing video audio transitions and special effects. You will create a project to become familiar with how to import edit and arrange video and audio clips. You will also export the project in QuickTime or Windows Media formats.
