Designed by Educational Testing Services (ETS) this course reviews the reading writing and mathematical skills necessary for college students planning to take the PPST/PRAXIS I assessment This test is administered prior to formally being accepted into college and university teacher education programs throughout the United States New Jersey four-year colleges and universities may soon adapt this exam as part of the teacher education application process Currently Pennsylvania schools do require it Students should complete the test to demonstrate their qualifications before the close of their sophomore year in college Each state has its own passing score Interactive classroom instruction utilizes test preparation strategies through print and electronic practice tests with support in remediating specific content concepts The PRAXIS I/PPST is offered under several conditions and modalities Depending upon the testing arrangement the entire exam may be completed between 3 and 4 1/2 hours Testing is typically offered throughout the year at regional locations The test preparation book is included in the course fee Course seating is limited to 15 students.
