Laura Lee Bowens and Eugene Soltys Bring Extensive Higher Education Experience
The County College of Morris (CCM) Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of two new professionals to the college’s Division of Student Development and Enrollment Management.

Joining the college are Laura Lee Bowens of Florham Park as registrar and Eugene Soltys of Florence as director of admissions.

Bowens brings more than 18 years of higher education experience to CCM. Most recently, she served as registrar at Stevens Institute of Technology.

She began her career in higher education as director of residents at Caldwell College. She then joined the College of Saint Elizabeth as assistant director of admissions and after two years became assistant registrar before advancing to the position of registrar. She served as registrar at the College of Saint Elizabeth for seven years.
She earned her bachelor’s degree and Master of Science in Management from the College of Saint Elizabeth. Bowens is a member of both the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the Middle States Association of Collegiate Registrars and Officers of Admission.

Soltys brings more than 20 years of admissions experience to CCM. Most recently, he served as director of admissions at Cabrini College, Radnor, PA. Among his accomplishments there, he oversaw the development of a comprehensive enrollment plan that resulted in exceeding enrollment goals for the 2012 freshman class.
He began his career in higher education at Manor College, Jenkintown, PA, as an admissions counselor and assistant volleyball coach and advanced to the position of director of admissions. From there, he joined Georgian Court University as director of graduate admissions.

Soltys earned his bachelor’s degree from Holy Family University and his MBA from Georgian Court University. He is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling and past president of its New Jersey chapter.
“We’re delighted to have such experienced professionals joining us and are looking forward to the contributions they are certain to bring to CCM,” said Dr. Bette Simmons, vice president of Student Development and Enrollment Management.
As registrar, Bowens is responsible for maintaining all registration and matriculation requirements, developing course schedules, determining eligibility for graduation and ensuring the college is compliant with the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
As director of admissions, Soltys is responsible for recruiting students and meeting enrollment goals, overseeing new student initiatives and assisting with a strong student life program at CCM.
