County College of Morris (CCM) will be offering free business skills training for employees starting in mid-September.
Results–oriented Computer and Communication Skills classes take place at CCM’s Randolph Campus, 214 Center Grove Road, starting September 13.
Computer classes are available in basic and intermediate Word, Excel and PowerPoint (versions 2007 and 2010) as well as Advanced Outlook. Each class is eight-hours long, running from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Communications Skills training covers the topics of Successful Leadership, Winning Presentations, Communications for On-the-Job Success and High-Powered Customer Service. Each course totals 12 hours and consists of two classes running from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Certain topics also include a computer training component to increase the successful usage of skills learned in the class.
Employers can register employees for as many classes as they deem necessary. The only requirements are that employees must be employed at least 20 hours a week and paid their usual hourly rate while in training. For the computer training, employees also should have a basic knowledge of Windows and how to use a keyboard and mouse.
