The Photo Club at County College of Morris (CCM) has chosen the finalists for its photo competition and is now asking the public to help decide on its Popularity Award.
The finalists’ photos, which currently are being voted on, can be found by joining the CCM Photo Club Competition Facebook page. The Facebook page can be found at http://tinyurl.com/dx4lz7g
An exhibit featuring the work of the finalists and selections from graduating CCM photography students will be held at Artistic Impression Studio, 100 Morris Avenue, Boonton. A reception to open the exhibition takes place Friday, May 3, from 7 – 9 p.m. and will include the announcement of the first, second, third and popularity prize winners.
Participation in the contest exceeded expectations with more than 400 photos submitted from high school students and CCM students alike, noted Hrvoje Slovenc, professor of photography at CCM and the photo club's advisor.
"Because we were overwhelmed by both the quality and number of works submitted, our student judges had an exceptionally hard time narrowing the field of finalists," said Slovenc. "Given the quality of the submitted work we have decided to also include a 'submissions wall' at the exhibit."
