New Student Registration
Your attendance at the New Student registration (NSR) marks the first phase of the enrollment process. An invitation to attend an NSR session is an indicator that you have been accepted to college and are now ready to select your first semester courses. The objective of the NSR is to provide you with academic advisement and guidance, discuss your placement test results, obtain information about your chosen major and learn how to use Web Advisor to build your first semester schedule either for Summer 2013 or Fall 2013.
During the two hour NSR session you will meet with a faculty advisor in a small group session with other new students like yourself. This is your time to ask any questions you have about being a student at CCM. While on campus for the NSR you can also ask questions and gather information about tuition payment options, learn about financial aid and scholarship opportunities and take home information about New Student Orientation. At the conclusion of the NSR program you will have registered for your Summer 2013 and/or Fall 2013 classes and, you will have obtained information about how you access various technologies, such as your student email account, your WebAdvisor account, and the online learning management system, and you will receive preliminary information about this summer’s new student orientation program.
College Student Success Course
CSS 011 – College Student Success course is a two credit institutional course that offers a new student an introduction to college life. The course is being offered in the summer for six (6) weeks. Students in certain majors are required to take CSS 11 as a companion course to the required ENG 025 Writing Skills course. Students are encouraged to take this course during the summer to aid in transitioning to college life and setting the foundation for being successful student at CCM.
