Music Under the Stars
Wednesday, March 30, 2005, 7:30 pm IT'S FINALLY OFFICIAL! Our MUSIC UNDER THE STARS series continues! This month we will feature some home-grown talent. Our own County College of Morris students and faculty will be performing -- there will be be two Jazz Ensembles and two Chamber Ensembles filling the air and space with amazing music. Hear our groups like never before, under the stars, and naturally amplified by the dome. It is late notice, but it is a program that should not be missed. |

We see things never before imagined. We’ll look at the images the space program has provided us, and try to figure out what they can tell us about deep space, as well as things closer to home. |

Tiny Worlds -- the Moons of the Solar System
Saturday, July 9 -- 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm People have always marvelled at the moon. It dominates the night sky, and was our first step towards exploring other worlds ever deeper into space. Ours is not unique -- there are over 100 moons surrounding the planets throughout the solar system. Some are larger than the smallest planets. There are massive volcanos, rich atmospheres, and giant frozen oceans. We'll look at some of the most amazing moons in the solar system. |

Programs for general audiences are usually presented on the 2nd weekend of each month. These one-hour programs vary through the course of the year and cover many topics in astronomy. Popular presentations include “Music Under the Stars,” given in March and October of each year, and a series of holiday programs. The Planetarium is also available for presentations customized for corporate outings, scouts, service organizations, and many other groups. Wheelchairs can be accommodated.
