Based on the VA Benefits that you are eligible for, the following will indicate the information you will need to have for your first session with the CCM Veteran’s Representative to ensure successful certification.

33/Post 9/11 GI Bill®

  • If you have never used your benefits for education complete the VA Form 22-1990. This form is available from the CCM VA representative or you may print a PDF version online.
  • If you have used your education benefits previously, have not attended CCM for 6 or more months, or have changed your major complete VA form 22-1995. This form is available from the CCM VA representative or may be accessed online.
  • All students must submit a copy of their DD-214 indicating discharge status.
  • A copy of the Certificate of Eligibility must be submitted to the VA representative before the student will be certified.

Chapter 30/GI Bill®

  • If you have never used your benefits for education complete the VA Form 22-1990. This form is available from the CCM VA representative or you may print a PDF version online here.
  • If you have used your education benefits previously, have not attended CCM for 6 or more months, or have changed your major complete VA form 22-1995. This form is available from the CCM VA representative or may be accessed online.
  • All students must submit a copy of their DD-214 indicating discharge status.
  • Students using these benefits must make payment arrangements for their courses.

Chapter 31/Vocational Rehabilitation

  • Veterans receiving Chapter 31 benefits should contact their Vocational Rehabilitation counselor prior to enrolling in classes. Your counselor can provide you with information regarding the benefits you are entitled to, and will also provide CCM with your 28-1905 form indicating you are eligible to receive Chapter 31 benefits.

Chapter 35/Survivors and Dependent’s Education Assistance

  • Dependents that have never used these benefits should complete the VA form 22-5490. The form is available from the Veterans representative.
  • Dependents that have used these benefits at a previous institution, which have not been enrolled at CCM for 6 months or more, or plan to change their program of study should complete VA form 22-5495.
  • Dependents using these benefits must pay their tuition according to CCM’s payment schedule.

Chapter 32 – VEAP (Veterans Educational Assistance Program)

  • Veterans who qualify for benefits under chapter 32 and have never used them must complete VA form 22-1990
  • Veterans who have previously used these benefits must complete VA form 22-1995

Chapter 1606 – Montgomery GI Bill® Select Reserve

  • If you have never used your benefits for education complete the VA Form 22-1990. This form is available from the CCM VA representative or you may print a PDF version online.
  • If you have used your education benefits previously, have not attended CCM for 6 or more months, or have changed your major complete VA form 22-1995. This form is available from the CCM VA representative or may be accessed online.
  • Veterans may be required to submit their Notice of Basic Eligibility.
  • Students using these benefits must make payment arrangements for their courses.

Chapter 1607 – Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP)

  • If you have never used your benefits for education complete the VA Form 22-1990.  This form is available from the CCM VA representative or you may print a PDF version online.
  • If you have used your education benefits previously, have not attended CCM for 6 or more months, or have changed your major complete VA form 22-1995. This form is available from the CCM VA representative or may be accessed online.
  • If you have been discharged you must submit a copy of your DD-214 indicating discharge status.
  • Students using these benefits must make payment arrangements for their courses.

National Guard Free Tuition Program

  • Students receiving benefits through the National Guard should first contact their Educational Service Office to receive a Commander’s Certification.
  • Students receiving the National Guard Tuition Waiver are also required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year. To file the FAFSA online, please visit www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Students should bring in a copy of the signature page indicating they have filed the FAFSA along with their Commanders Certification each semester
  • This program covers Morris County tuition only. Non-residents of Morris County must pay the out-of-county or out-of-state differential.
