Assessment
These tests are designed to help students identify interests, skills, values and personality type and the best options for college majors and careers. The following assessments are available through Counseling Services:
The Strong Interest Inventory – measures your interests in a wide range of jobs, work tasks, leisure activities and school subjects. It includes information on how your interests can be linked to college majors and careers.
Self-Directed Search – Is a self-scoring interest test that provides a list of careers that match your results.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – An assessment designed to measure psychological preferences and personality type.
Focus 2
– Online career guidance tool to assist you in self-assessment and career exploration.
Exploration
Research career options through career library located in the Counseling Center
Informational Interviewing – discussing careers with people employed in certain fields of interest
Utilize career research websites
Explore careers via volunteer experience
