In Memoriam

The County College of Morris community mourns the passing of Professor Lawrence H. Petersen on December 9, 2010 and Professor Scott R. Williams on December 26, 2010.
Professor Petersen taught in the Business Department at CCM for 30 years. He graduated from Kean University and earned his master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was a member of the New Jersey Education Association for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Shanahan) Petersen, and his stepson Matthew Aporta. A memorial service will be held at a time and date to be announced.

Professor Williams, a member of the Business Department, was retired from a 36-year career at PSE&G where he served as a director. At CCM, he became a professor of finance and accounting after previously teaching part-time at the college for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ingrid (Ottoson), two children, Jennifer Dumont and Michael, as well as three grandchildren, a brother, Jan, and his sister-in-law, Sally.

A memorial service for Professor Williams will be held at the Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph, on January 15, 2011, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in his memory to the John J.
