Exhibition Follows Recent First Place Award – Posted 6/6/14

Following on the heels of his recent First Place Award from the Pocono Arts Council, Dr. James Gwynne, professor of visual arts at County College of Morris (CCM), has been invited to exhibit his work at The Gallery at the Pocono Community Theater.

The exhibition runs June 29 through August 31 with an Artist’s Reception on Saturday, July 5, from 1 – 3 p.m. The Pocono Community Theater and Cultural Center, http://poconocommunitytheater.org/, is located at 88 South Courtland St., East Stroudsburg, PA.

Gwynne, a resident of East Stroudsburg, will have more than a dozen of his paintings on display, including figures, still life arrangements, and one of his favorite subjects, clouds and skies.

In May, Gwynne was awarded the First Place award for his painting “Delicate Sky” in the Pocono Arts Council Members’ Exhibition.

Gwynne joined the CCM faculty in 1972. He also has taught at The College of Wooster and Centenary College.

He earned his B.A. from The College of Wooster, his M.A. from Michigan State University and his Ph.D. from New York University. His work has been exhibited in more than 300 shows and is represented in many private, corporate and public collections, including the New Jersey State Museum and Pennsylvania State Museum.
