Exhibition at Broadfoot & Broadfoot Runs January 7 through February 15 – Posted 12/19/14
Todd L.W. Doney, assistant professor of art at County College of Morris (CCM), will be starting the new year with a solo exhibit of his recent artwork at Broadfoot & Broadfoot’s The 155 Project in New York City.
The exhibition runs from January 7 through February 15 with a reception on Sunday, January 18, 2 – 4 p.m. Broadfoot & Broadfoot is located at 155 Orchard Street in New York City. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday 1 – 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon – 5 p.m.
Doney’s artwork features vividly colored landscapes that reflect the beauty and variety of nature found in his own backyard—the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. A Neo-Impressionistic and Neo-Romantic artist, he draws his inspiration from both classic and modern landscape artists.
“Exhibiting my work in a solo exhibit in New York represents another milestone in my career as an artist,” said Doney. “I’m thrilled to be presented with this opportunity.”
His work most recently was on display in an exhibition of New Jersey landscapes at Drumthwacket, the governor’s mansion and at this year’s Mansion in May at the Blairsden estate in Peapack-Gladstone. In 2013, he was invited to hold a solo exhibit at the Morris Museum. He also has held one-person exhibits at the Gallery MacEgan in Morristown, the College of Saint Elizabeth, New Jersey City University, Griffin Gallery in Madison and at the Brickton Art Gallery in Park Ridge, IL. His works are in public and private collections worldwide.
Doney began his education at a community college and went on to attend the prestigious American Academy of Art in Chicago. He earned his MFA from New Jersey City University. He joined the CCM faculty in 2011, where he teaches drawing, painting, and portfolio and presentation classes.
