Karin Lowney-Seed, adjunct professor of fine arts at County College of Morris (CCM), has received a third-place award in the Artexpo New York 2015 Poster Challenge.

Lowney-Seed’s painting “Mind the Gap” was selected for the honor after being juried as a finalist. The piece will be featured at Artexpo New York 2015 from April 23 – 26 at Pier 94 in New York City. She will also be featured in “Art Business News” this summer.

Artexpo New York is an annual juried exhibition that brings together well-known publishers, galleries and collectors with established and emerging artists. The event is the largest international gathering of qualified trade buyers, hosting more than 25,000 art enthusiasts each year.

“It is an honor to have been selected as a finalist and then receive third place in such a prestigious competition,” says Lowney-Seed, who has been teaching at CCM for more than nine years. “I am thrilled to have my work viewed by such a large gathering of art enthusiasts at an international event.”

In addition to teaching Art History II and Contemporary Art History at CCM, Lowney-Seed also owns MyInterior, a high-end interior design firm located in Sparta, where she resides. In 2013, several of Lowney-Seed’s works were on display at an abstract painting exhibit at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York. In December of 2014 she showed at Art Basel in Miami as a juried selection.
