Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Names Venancio Fuentes Senior Member – Posted 10/5/16

Professor Venancio Fuentes, of Pine Brook, chair of the Department of Engineering Technologies and Engineering Science at County College of Morris (CCM), has been elevated to the position of Senior Member in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Only 9 percent of the IEEE’s approximately 428,000 members hold that distinction, which requires extensive experience, professional maturity and documented achievements.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized in this way by my professional association,” said Fuentes.

The IEEE is the world’s largest association of technical professionals dedicated to fostering technological innovation and excellence.

Before joining the CCM faculty in 1992 as a full-time professor, Fuentes worked for Sperry Corporation where he created navigation systems for the Navy. He also worked on a project for Kearfott Corporation updating navigation systems for the space shuttle.

Fuentes earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University and his Master of Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
