Data Privacy Seminar Offered at CCM – Posted 1/17/17
The Department of Information Technologies at County College of Morris (CCM) will be holding a seminar on how to protect against identity theft on Tuesday, January 24.
The seminar, which is free and open to the public, takes place at 12:30 p.m. in the CCM Center for Cyber Security, Emeriti Hall, Room 209, on the college’s Randolph campus, 214 Center Grove Road. Those coming from off campus should park in Lot 7. The seminar is being held as part of the national Data Privacy Day.
Seminar attendees will learn how to keep their personal information safe and protected in an interconnected world. With all the different ways people connect today, it is imperative to know where to find and how to check privacy settings to ensure that personal data is safe and secure.
This seminar is part of the “Stop. Think. Connect.” StaySafeOnline.org campaign, a national public awareness effort to convey that cyber security is a shared responsibility and each person has a part in keeping the Internet safe. As part of that effort, the Center for Cyber Security at CCM is hosting this event to help educate students, faculty, staff and the public on data privacy issues.
CCM is a leader in cyber security education in New Jersey and is the only community college in the state recognized as a certifying institution by the National Security Agency’s Committee on National Security Standards.
