County College of Morris (CCM) once again is serving as a leader in cyber security education in New Jersey by hosting weekly events this month on how the public can take steps to be safer and more secure online.
Earlier this year, CCM was named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security, making it the only community college in the state to hold that designation.
The information sessions are being held in recognition of October being National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The national “Stop. Think. Connect.” campaign is a country-wide effort to increase public awareness that cyber security is a shared responsibility and each person has a part in keeping the Internet safe. As part of that effort, the Department of Information Technology at CCM is hosting several free events to help educate students, faculty, staff and the public on cyber security issues. All events are being held on the college’s Randolph campus, 214 Center Grove Road.

October 3:   Kick-Off Event – Student Community Center in front of the Campus Life office  12:30 p.m.
October 10: How to be a 2017 Digital Citizen – Student Community Center, Davidson Room D, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
October 17: IoT and You – Sheffield Hall, Room 100, 12:30 p.m.
October 25: Cybersecurity Professionals Panel – Student Community Center, Davidson Room A, 6:30 p.m.
October 31: Zero Days Screening hosted by the CCM Cyber Centurions – Sheffield Hall, Room 100, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
