Now Recruiting for the Next Group of Students for Culinary and Horticultural Careers
County College of Morris (CCM) recently celebrated the latest graduates from its Culinary Opportunity (COP) and Horticultural Opportunity (HOP) programs, as it also has begun recruiting for the next class for both of the training sessions for adults with developmental disabilities.
COP prepares students for entry-level positions in food production or packaging in a grocery, supermarket, convenience store or food market. Students in the program also are prepared to obtain Serv-Safe certification and provided with resume preparaÂtion and interviewing skills, along with the opportunity to meet potential employers.
Students in HOP gain hands-on experience in horticulÂtural practices ranging from greenhouse production, to landscape maintenance, to floriculture. Students learn about the safe use of tools, soil preparation and seeding, transplanting techniques, carÂing for houseplants and more. As with the COP program, students learn how to put together a resume and interviewing skills and have the opportunity to meet with potential employers.

On December 17, the college held a ceremony to honor the graduates from this semesterâ€™s COP and HOP programs.
COP graduates from this Fall Semester are Brian Daly of Parsippany, Charles Griffin from Morris Plains, Joelle Feiner from Livingston, Katie Fuller from Morristown, Kevin Hasenbein from Morristown, Rhys Harris from Morristown, Ryan Tomkievicz from Budd Lake, and Victor Daniel Natividad from West Orange. This is the fifth class that has graduated from COP.
HOP graduates from the Fall Semester, which are the programâ€™s first set of graduates, are Kevin Lin from Whippany, Paul Griffin from Morris Plains, Ryan May from Morristown, and Alexa Reiris from Rockaway.
