New Jersey Council of County Colleges Honors Outstanding Scholars and Leaders
Two County College of Morris (CCM) students were recently named to the 2023 New Jersey All-State Academic for their outstanding academic achievements and exceptional service to their communities and the college as members of the national honor society Phi Theta Kappa.
Zachary Strickler of Mount Arlington and Samantha Wrobel of Succasunna were nominated by CCM administration for the New Jersey Council of County Colleges (NJCCC) distinction based on their academic achievement, leadership, and engagement in college and community service.
Stickler graduated from CCM Cum Laude in December 2022 with his Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology. He transferred to Florida State University in Tallahassee to earn his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. At CCM, he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
Wrobel started at CCM as a high school senior through the Challenger Program and
continued at the college to earn her associate degree as a recipient of an NJ STARS scholarship, which she gained by having a cumulative 4.27 GPA and ranking in the top 10 percent of her high school class. At CCM, she served as a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and Phi Theta Kappa as Vice President. She completed her Legal Assistant Certificate and Associate of Science in Criminal Justice in December 2022 and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is now at Southern New Hampshire University to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
Stickler and Wrobel were among 37 students from the state’s 18 Community Colleges named to the 2023 New Jersey All-State Academic Team.
“These exceptional students utilized the many opportunities that New Jersey’s Community Colleges have to offer and succeeded brilliantly,” said NJCCC President Aaron R. Fichtner, Ph.D. “We applaud the New Jersey All-State Academic Team members for their academic excellence, hard work, and perseverance to rise to the top of their class. Their tenacity and incredible work ethic serve as an inspiration to all.”
