What You Will Learn

Radiologic technologists are the medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations. Your work will help uncover health problems and could ultimately save lives. You’ll be active throughout your working hours and no two days will be the same. Radiologic technologists make up the third-largest group of health care professionals surpassed in number only by physicians and nurses. There are numerous disciplines and specialties within the radiologic science profession; ionizing radiation to accomplish the test of health care delivery. Radiologic Technology isn’t just a job it is a PROFESSION. Professionalism means committing to lifelong learning.

Tasks Radiologic Technologists perform include:


  • Explaining procedures to patients and answering questions
  • Preparing equipment and radiology rooms for use as needed
  • Positioning and monitoring patients for imaging exams
  • Ensuring safety of patients during radiology procedures
  • Documenting information with computers
  • Preparing and administering contrast media
  • Touching patients – R.T.’s are hands on people. This profession is high tech and high touch
