675 Route 10

County College of Morris purchased the one-story commercial building on Route 10 in Randolph as its first major expansion in nearly four decades.

The 15,500 square-foot building located at 675 Route 10 East in Randolph was initially by the college to house its library while the Learning Resource Center (LRC), in which it is housed, was renovated. Long-term, the new building will allow the college to address about a third of its shortfall in classroom space as identified in its 2010-2022 Facilities Master Plan.

“This building became available at a time when the college is in immediate need of quality space,” noted Dr. Edward J. Yaw, CCM president. “We found ourselves with a unique opportunity to procure land and a building bordering the campus that also will provide CCM with direct access to Route 10.”

The building was purchased for $3.45 million from Planet Randolph, LLC.

The building was eventually used as the new location for Public Safety and Information Services.

The campus’s last major expansion consisted of the construction of two academic buildings, Cohen and DeMare halls, which were completed and opened in 1973.
