Guy Mariani – CCM Success Story

Guy MarianiHometown: Byram Township
Graduated: 1997
Degree: A.A. in Criminal Justice
Current Position: Police Sergeant and Adjunct Instructor

Best thing about being a CCM student: The best things about CCM were the excellent professors and adjunct instructors, the affordable tuition, the proximity it was to my house and that I could work part time while going to school.

Important instructor or staff member: Professor Nicholas Irons made learning about criminal justice fun for me and he was a role model for what I wanted to become in the future. He was a police officer who helped his community and he also helped the current generation of young adults through education.

Experience that stands out: There is not one particular experience that stands out. The entire experience was positive.

Anything else to share: I encourage all young people to start out at a county college. It is affordable and it gives you the chance to see if you enjoy college without having to spend the money living at a school before realizing that it is not working out for you. I enjoyed going to school close to where I lived and it gave me a good foundation for when I transferred to a four-year institution.
