Was there an instructor or staff member who was important to you or helped you in some way at CCM?
By far the most influential instructor was Professor Frank Puzycki in the Astronomy lab. He had taught a reluctant student that only needed the 4 credits the lab provided in the field of Astronomy and brought a new found passion and interest in me for the stars, planets, constellations and solar system where there was little or none. In fact I was able to share the experiences I learned in this institution with others in a museum in NYC. While I was trying to explain some of the many lessons and information I learned along to my young family while enthusiastically trying to keep their attention it caught many other bystanders attention as well. Within a few minutes I had about 30 people listening and learning from me. A guy who could either take a 4 credit Bio lab or Astronomy lab… (exciting stuff)…I picked the right one in CCM.
Is there a particular experience that stands out about your time at CCM?
As a Veteran the most influential team for me was Dean of Students Jan Caffie and the entire Veterans Services team. As a professional working during the day and taking all courses in the evening, or short Winter and Summer sessions, Dean Caffie and the Veterans Services team were the key reason I was able to succeed at CCM and even be able to continue on to graduate. I owe so much more than a few kudos and pats on the back that I can provide here.
