Looking Ahead to Latinx – Latino/a Heritage Month

The college’s Latinx – Latino/a Heritage Team is dedicated to organizing and coordinating a series of college-wide events that celebrate and honor the vibrant Latinx culture during Latinx Heritage Month. The group’s mission is to create an inclusive and engaging environment that fosters cultural appreciation, promotes diversity and encourages unity among students, faculty, staff and the wider community.

Library Display, LRC, side-by-side and dual language books, which include English classics in both English and Spanish, as well as works by Latinx authors.

Scientist Display, SCC, a collection of posters highlighting remarkable achievements and groundbreaking discoveries by Latinx – Latino/a scientists.

Flag Display, SCC, Friday, September 15 is the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico declared its independence on September 16 and Chile on September 18.
