SPRING 2022 WORKSHOPS
In order to attend these sessions, students will need to schedule an appointment on the TutorTrac scheduling system at https://tutortrac.ccm.edu; please use your CCM student credentials to sign in. Upon signing in, select “Search Availability” under Student Options on the left-hand side of the screen. Next, select “Science Center” and then select the course and date range. Please note the title of the session may not appear when scheduling an appointment, please make sure you select the appropriate date and time for the session you would like to attend. Appointments can be made up to 6 days in advance. Please make your appointment no later than 24 hours before the day of session. Students that have scheduled an appointÂment will receive an email on the morning of the session with information on how to join the Zoom session.
Each session will be recorded for those unable to attend. Recordings will be posted within 48 hours to the Tutoring Center Blackboard Shell under the Science Resources on the left-hand panel.
Workshop 1 – Effective Study and Test-Taking Strategies for Success in A&P
Presented by: Professors Paulina Cardaci and Frank Pietropollo

Description: Are you enrolled in Anatomy and Physiology I or II? Join two A&P professors for a workshop on effective study and test-taking strategies for face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.

Workshop 2 – Solving Problems Using Dimensional Analysis
Presented by: Dr. Loryn Stoler
Date and Time: Wednesday, February 2, 4–5 p.m.
Description: Need help learning how to solve problems involving dimensional analysis? This workshop will review how to use equalities, medication dosages, and densities as conversion factors to perform dimensional analysis. Join a chemistry professor who will be able to help you improve your skills with this problem-solving technique.

Workshop 3 – Microscopy

Description: Are you interested in learning more about microscopy? This workshop will focus on the concepts and terminology of microscopy, types and parts of the microscope, magnification, and proper care and technique when utilizing a microscope.

Workshop 4 – Effective Study and Test-Taking Strategies for Biology Students

Description: Are you enrolled in a biology course and looking to enhance your study and test taking skills? Please join two biology professors for a workshop that will help you evaluate your current skills and provide you with tips to help aid in your success.

Workshop 5 – Solving Problems Involving Aqueous Solution Stoichiometry
Presented by: Dr. Loryn Stoler
Date and Time: Tuesday, March 22, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Description: Need help learning how to solve problems involving a limiting reactant, dissociation equations, calculating the amount of precipitate present at the end of a reaction, and the concentration of ions present at the end of a reaction? Join a chemistry professor who will be able to help you improve your skills in solving this type of problem.
