The Writing Institute is a workshop for professors, students, and everyone at CCM who long to publish mass market and academic articles and books. Come see what its all about on Thursday, October 18, November 8, and November 29, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Cohen Hall Room 263. Pizza will be provided but a head count is required, so RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
During this first of six meetings during the academic year, we will cover several topics, including but not limited to: the kinds of articles you should write (and how), how to connect those articles with the appropriate markets, how to contact magazine and book publishers, and what compensation you should expect.
In addition, we’ll discuss how to improve your writing by looking at the beginnings of dozens of famous works of fiction and non-fiction.
Philosophy professor Kenneth Shouler, Ph.D., will lead the discussion. Shouler has published books in philosophy, politics, business, sports, and religion and has authored hundreds of articles for mass-market and academic publications.
*Subsequent meetings will be held in the same room during college hour on Thursdays November 8th and November 29th.
Pizza will be provided, but a head-count is needed so RSVP to email@example.com and let me know about your writing interests.
