She completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing at Sacred Heart University in 2016 and has worked to maintain her national certifications for Medical-Surgical and Oncology Nursing.

Her love for Nursing Education began while working on a Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at NYP Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she helped to develop a health program devoted to skills-based education for caregivers and patients undergoing transplants.

In 2016, Professor Costa moved to New Jersey with her husband and children and later worked as a Nurse Educator at RWJ Somerset for the Oncology and Geriatrics units. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate degree in Nursing Educational Leadership and is expected to graduate in 2024.
