Special Positions Held: Drama Coordinator, Director of CCM SHAKESPEARE AND COMPANY Dr .Robert Cioffi has headed the CCM Drama program since 1983, and has directed over 70 productions, including THE GREAT GATSBY, THE DEVILS, CORAM BOY, THE GRAPES OF WRATH, OEDIPUS THE KING , 33 VARIATIONS,MACBETH, THE CANTERBURY TALES, ARABIAN NIGHTS, JOURNEY TO THE WEST among many others. Dr. Cioffi’s interviews with Broadway composers and lyricists Sheldon Harnick, Betty Comden and Adolph Green, Tom Jones, Bob Merrill and Al Carmines were published in SHOW MUSIC MAGAZINE. Dr. Cioffi is also a musical theatre composer, and is a graduate of the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. His rock musical ONE WAY TICKET TO HELL was selected for the first New York Musical Theatre Festival and led to productions OffBroadway at Don’t Tell Mama’s in NYC, and the highlyacclaimed West Coast production at The Lee Strasberg /Marilyn Monroe Theatre in L.A. where it was nominated for Best Musical and was listed as “One of The Year’s Ten Best” by the L.A. Times. The score for ONE WAY TICKET won a New Jersey “MEET THE COMPOSERS” grant following the premiere production at 12 Miles West Theatre Company in Montclair, NJ. He has also written the scores to SONGS FROM A GLASS HALF FULL, CHILDREN OF PARADISE and DORIAN GRAY. His latest musical, WE CAN DO IT, about Rosie the Riveter and Eleanor Roosevelt , heads to the recording studio this spring. In his spare time, Dr. Cioffi enjoys playing classical piano, listening to music, collecting classic movies and working out. He is an active member of the American Natural Bodybuilding Federation.
