Professor Pietropollo tries to be as active in his student’s education as possible by being there inside and outside the classroom. Professor Pietropollo integrates practical examples and stories into his classes to peak student’s interest. He has had many students tell him this makes class much more enjoyable and personable. Professor Pietropollo always reminds students to come and talk to him. In addition to talking to him about course material, he encourages them to also talk about what is going on in their lives, their education and career goals, and he always makes time for this. He enjoys when students ask him questions about his personal life, education, and occupation as he hopes that he can help them make decisions that will be impactful. He has had students tell him that they are relieved to hear how his original plans to go to medical school or pharmacy school changed many times. He took opportunities as they presented themselves; people never know how things are going to change and they should realize that there is always opportunity for growth and change.

Some of his interests include working on cars, learning about and adopting new technology, and working out. He always tries to stay active and learn new things. He thinks that it is important that as an educator you always continue to learn new things.
