Following the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from West Virginia University in 2007, Professor Shepherd attended County College of Morris, receiving an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing in 2016. She began working in the Emergency Department as a patient care technician in 2014, and then as a nurse in the same department in 2016. Professor Shepherd continued her education at Chamberlain University while working and raising her son, completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2018, and a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2019. After completing her student teaching at County College of Morris, she began teaching in 2020 as an Adjunct Instructor and then accepted a full- time position as a faculty member in Nursing 214.
Professor Shepherd recently began teaching the IV Skills course offered by CCM through Workforce Development, and is currently researching doctoral programs. She is a Certified Emergency Nurse and is working toward becoming a Certified Nurse Educator. Professor Shepherd has found her passion in education, and plans to continue educating as often as she can.
