Professor Braun has been a registered nurse for many years, with experience in a variety of health settings, including critical care, home care, and cardiac rehabilitation. She has had the privilege of teaching RN students for 22 years, in areas such as medical-surgical, psychiatric, community, and pediatric nursing. She holds a Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Education from Rutgers University, and is a Certified Nurse Educator. Volunteer pursuits have included work with the Sussex County Red Cross and the Sussex County Medical Reserve Corps. She has developed staff education programs, written patient education materials, and has assisted with the development of human patient simulator education experiences.
Professor Braun is currently pursuing a doctorate in Medical Humanities from Drew University, and has recently completed an internship with the Healing Arts Program at Atlantic Health System. She has published several short stories and poems about her experiences in nursing.
