Professor Fitzgerald is a graduate of County College of Morris’ Nursing Program. She began her nursing career working as a staff nurse in the emergency department at University Hospital in Newark, NJ. She later transitioned to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where she worked in Surgical Intensive Care and became a nurse manager. Professor Fitzgerald also worked at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center where she was a staff nurse, then the Emergency Department Manager and Educator. While working she obtained her BSN from the College of St. Elizabeth and her MSN in Nursing Education from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She is currently working on her PhD in Nursing at Seton Hall University.Professor Fitzgerald began her teaching career at County College of Morris in 2016 as an adjunct instructor for Nursing 1. She began teaching Nursing 1 full-time in 2017. Professor Fitzgerald is a member of the National League of Nursing, American Society for Pain Management Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau.
