Totality: The Great American Solar Eclipse 2024
Showgoers will learn how eclipses of the Sun and Moon occur and how to view them. A total solar eclipse is a rare and beautiful phenomenon that occurs when the Moon passes in front of the Sun, and one will be visible on Monday, April 8 when the eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States and Canada. The show will explore what this eclipse will look like and where the best places to view are. The next total solar eclipse to cross the United States isn’t until 2045 so don’t miss this one! The 45-minute show is recommended for adults and children ages 8+ and is shown on select Fridays at 9 p.m. and Saturdays at 3:30 and 5 p.m. There will be additional shows on March 29 and March 30 to prepare visitors for the eclipse.
One Sky: Sky Stories from Around the Globe
This show features perspectives of different cultures from around the globe. The show includes a story about Orion from the Greeks, the Thunderbird from the Navajo and the great Celestial Canoe from the Innu people of Northern Canada. The show also explores how Hawaiians used the sky as a compass for their voyages throughout the Pacific Ocean. The 40-minute show is recommended for adults and children ages 6+ and is shown on select Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. It also includes a brief tour of the night sky and planets.
