A Witty and Romantic Comedic Performance of Mistaken Identity
Be entertained with a witty and romantic comedic performance of Twelfth Night, presented by the Department of Music, Performing Arts & Music Technologies at County College of Morris (CCM). The performances will take place Thursday through Saturday, March 7 – 9 at 7:30 p.m. each evening.
Originally written by Shakespeare in the early 1600s as a winter festival of merriment, Twelfth Night infuses mistaken identities and the pursuit of love with a sprinkle of tragedy and ultimately celebration. Filled with whimsical wordplay and complex characterization, the irony will delight audiences of all ages.
According to Director Michele Danna, adjunct instructor at CCM, the story follows several characters coping with different kinds of grief.
“Their journeys become disrupted, however, as they encounter a slew of chaotic misadventures,” said Danna. “Through this, we are reminded that music, art, humor and love are the truest keys to finding happiness even when we are the most committed to our sadness.”
Talented Cast of Actors
Students performing in Twelfth Night include Julia Bachman of Morris Plains, Adoran Ball of Montville, Matthew Budesheim of Butler, Nadia Cameron of Wharton, Emma Carothers of Randolph, Sebastian Cedeno of Mine Hill, Jayden Cohen of Mt. Tabor, Kayla Del Valle of Denville, Nyasia of Rockaway, Lydia Girardy of Long Valley, Hyron Gonzalez, Jr. of Mt. Olive, Brielle Jones of Rockaway, Diana Luba of Rockaway, Rachel Nielsen of Whippany, Tara Perrothers of West Caldwell, Andrew Price of Madison, Zsigmond Resarion of Randolph and Gwendolyn Rivera of Parsippany.
“What a delight it has been to direct Twelfth Night at CCM,” exclaimed Danna. “The complexities of this comedy are not easy to tackle, especially for young actors. I am continuously impressed with each of these students and how they show up to rehearsal with a spirit of play, curiosity and collaboration. On behalf of the entire team, working on this show has been a joy and we are excited for everyone to see our production.”
